Today I spent a bunch of time going through my SAT book and making some vocab flashcards to test myself with. Then I realized that I could just download an SAT Vocab flashcard app on my Ipad and I tested myself with that for a while.

Hey Aladren,
This week I was working on planning and filming a new video!
It is a chemistry project where we had to basically do a parody of a song about
our class. My partner is Karina. This week we recorded our song and filmed most
of what needed to be filmed. I will be editing the video because I offered to.

Hey Aladren,
So today I stayed after to film for our film project. We filmed on location at Haley's house which turned out to be really fun. I also picked up on a big problem I have, which is looking into peoples eyes! Kelsey pointed it out and I started to really notice how much my eyes shifted during our conversations. How do you fix something like that?
Also I am working on my Harper monologue from Angels in America and filming it today to send to the playwrites. I've been focusing on actually picturing who I'm talking to and I feel like I fade in and out of seeing that person. How do you get that image to stay there? I'll attach it to this blog post once I am done with it.
Question about audition night. I know you told the other juniors they needed 5 monologues but in the beginning of the year you told me and Nyasia that we would only need 3 because this was our first year. Should I be doing 5 or 3 for the fourth quarter?

Today we reviewed the monologues we filmed with Aladren. She gave me a bunch of advice and then helped me pick out a better monologue that I could do. I spent the rest of the class reading the play that she had picked the monologue from and writing down character traits.

Today the actors filmed our monologues and then reviewed them. I absolutely hated doing this. I never actually watched myself back before because I've always hated doing so. But I think after warming up to it I realized why I need to start watching myself back all the time.

Today we began theater history for this marking period. We started watching Raging Bull. I found it to be really entertaining. I laughed at some parts but was shocked at others. I really do enjoy it though and am excited to keep watching it.

Today the actors read The Golden Key. I found reading this very helpful because I tend to get very confused as to where I should start with developing a character. I think that I'll be using this as a guide in the future to help me figure out what I need to know about the character I am wanting to portray.

Today I had my RSAC audition and I feel pretty horrible about it. I should have done more homework on the monologue I chose. I also don't really think that the monologue I chose is even a good monologue to audition with. However it was my first time ever doing a monologue so I wasn't expecting it to be amazing.
April 30, 2012 - Screen Play Reading
Today we spent our time reading through the first draft of Election Day. We switched off roles so michelle could see different people playing the parts. I'm excited to see how this turns out!
May 4, 2012 - Script Reading
We spent today having a reading for the screen play that the writers put together called Election Day. We also were told our parts in the project. I am playing victoria. I really like this screen play I think its fun and different and very enjoyable.

Today we had theater history so we watched Raging Bull. I really like this movie and I feel like I'm learning a lot acting wise from it. I like to watch the physicality of the characters and see the choices each actor made when it comes to their movements.
May 7, 2012 - Pre-production
Today my group for the film project worked on pre-production. I worked on making a prop list and finding out where we could get certain things we needed. I feel like I did really well today. I stayed on task and was determined to get work done!
